About the role

The Partnerships & Communications Coordinator will integrate with the broader team to cultivate our volunteer community, oversee our internship program, and spearhead our communications & social media strategy. This highly collaborative position is a member of Covenant House New York (CHNY)’s Development & Communications department, and will coordinate volunteer opportunities in conjunction with internal stakeholders, including MINDS Mental Health, Cov Works, and the Youth Development departments, as well as our parent company, Covenant House International (CHI).

Working closely with the VP and Director of Strategic Partnerships, the Coordinator plays a pivotal supportive role in coordinating and sharing key moments for CHNY externally. This position leads CHNY’s multi‑channel communications strategy, including social media, newsletters, CHNY’s website, one‑pagers, and other assets. The Coordinator’s content creation will highlight our mission, amplify volunteer engagement, and drive meaningful calls to action.

By fostering relationships, the Partnerships & Communications Coordinator will build a pipeline for our individual volunteer opportunities, Peer‑to‑Peer events, and in‑kind giving campaigns. A critical priority of this role is to foster relationships with incoming volunteers and interns while ensuring child safety rules are followed in conjunction with CHNY’s Compliance and People & Culture departments. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Development & Communications and works collaboratively across the Development and Communications department to support the team’s work.
