Reporting to the Senior Director, Foundation and Institutional Relations, the Associate plays a key role in supporting UWNYC’s institutional fundraising strategy, with a focus on foundation and corporate philanthropy. Working as part of the Resource Development team and reporting to the Senior Director of Institutional Giving and Philanthropy, the Associate, Foundations will support a growing portfolio supporting community impact on food, health, justice, and education.
This role will focus on grant prospecting, proposal development, reporting, and partner stewardship to help advance the organization’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Identify and research potential foundation and corporate funding opportunities aligned with UWNYC’s priorities using research tools and databases.
- Manage a pipeline of prospective funders and support in tracking outreach, deadlines, etc.
- Assist with copywriting, reviewing and preparing briefings, grant proposals, concept notes, and supporting materials.
- Organize data for grant reports in collaboration with program and finance teams.
- Upload and submit proposals, reports, and required documents through various online portals.
- Support the development and maintenance of stewardship materials.
- Research and prepare background materials, meeting documents, and presentations for meetings with funders.
- Schedule meetings, prepare briefings, coordinate and manage donor communications.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, or related field required.
- Minimum of three to five years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, philanthropy, or a related field preferred.
- Strong writing, editing, and research skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with donor databases and CRM systems (Raisers Edge NXT required) and knowledge of preferred.
