Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that supports the independently incorporated Planned Parenthood affiliates, which operate non‑profit health centers across the U.S. PPFA also works to educate the public on and advocate for issues of sexual and reproductive health. Formed as the advocacy arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Planned Parenthood Action Fund is a separate non‑profit membership organization tax‑exempt under section 501(c)(4).

The Action Fund engages in educational, advocacy, and limited electoral activity, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education in furtherance of the Planned Parenthood mission.

The Regional Campaign Director (RCD) serves as the lead strategist for advancing Planned Parenthood’s advocacy, electoral, and policy campaigns within an assigned multi‑state region. Working in close partnership with local Planned Parenthood advocacy and political organizations, the RCD develops, adapts, and implements campaign strategies that advance sexual and reproductive healthcare and rights (SRHR), defend Planned Parenthood from legislative and political attacks, and build durable political power.

The RCD works with internal and external partners and collaborates with colleagues nationally as well as local PP organizations to adapt campaign models for specific state and local PP advocacy and political organizations, build political power, and win campaigns.

• Collaborates with, supports, and if needed, trains and persuades local PP advocacy and political organizations in building, adapting, and managing state and federal campaigns, including elections.
• Works with affiliates to create new centers of state power and influence, maximizing catalyzing moments to drive a powerful and winning message nationally, and fight national attacks.
• Leads collaboration between local PP organizations and PP national office departments to build capacity of local PP organizations to develop and conduct multi‑year campaigns to influence state and federal policy goals.
• Adapts national office resources (technical assistance, training, coaching, grant support) for local, state, and regional use and influence.
• Conducts strategic planning with local PP organizations to create conditions that would support an expanded Planned Parenthood health care footprint, ambitious goals for supporter growth, and public policy accomplishments.
• Ensures the successful implementation of the strategic plan by providing campaign and organizing expertise and technical support, skills training and management, on‑the‑ground assistance, and connecting the local PP organizations to appropriate national office resources.
• Provides direct legislative, organizing, advocacy, judicial, and other campaign support and management, rapid response assistance, and crisis management to local PP organizations as appropriate and legally compliant.
• Works as a team player in a high‑pressure work environment.
• Contributes to national and affiliate development of comprehensive organizing strategies and long‑term planning.
