Development Associate, Parish Development
Overview/
Purpose:
The Development Associate, Parish Development will support the fundraising and donor relations efforts of the Parish Development Office. This position involves assisting with the Cardinal’s Annual Stewardship Appeal and special parish initiatives, including donor and pastor databases, fundraising campaigns, special events, and providing administrative support to ensure the smooth functioning of the parish development department.
Reports to: Director of Cardinal’s Annual Stewardship Appeal
Work Location: 488 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10022
Responsibilities- Prepare polished written correspondence including agendas, presentations, and recaps
- Prepare memoranda and donor correspondence, including solicitation letters, gift processing and error responses, tax receipt letters, acknowledgement letters, and general follow-up letters
- Manage all pastor and seminarian correspondence, including clergy mailings, individual pastor correspondence, and monthly pastor engagement
- Draft, edit, and proofread correspondence and marketing materials including newsletters, parish marketing materials, digital content, and promotional collateral
- Maintain brand consistency across all print and digital platforms
- Respond to donor inquiries (phone and email) and provide exceptional customer service
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Director of Parish Development and the Director of the Cardinal’s Annual Stewardship Appeal
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements
- Manage departmental files, records, and correspondence
- Special projects as needed
- A Bachelor’s Degree
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role in a professional environment
- A proven track record of navigating complex protocols and managing high-level relationships
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized and detail-oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Proactive, resourceful, and adaptable
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and to represent the archdiocese in a polished and professional manner
- A self‑motivated team player
- A passion for the Catholic Church and a deep understanding of Catholic culture
$30.00 - $33.00 per hour.
Position statusThis position is considered full-time, non-exempt, and eligible for overtime.
