Programming & Outreach Assistant for Older Adults at Queens Village (18+)
To meet the needs of older adults and homebound customers, Queens Public Library offers innovative and interactive programs via Zoom or Teams. Programs focus on discussion groups, creative aging art programs, art history lectures, writing clubs, and other enrichment activities. Volunteers in this role will assist with the following responsibilities:
- Modifying systematic filing and data collection
- Data entry
- Phone calls to the homebound
- Conduct outreach to facilities serving senior customers
- Prepare mailings
- Moderate virtual programs
- 18 years old and up
- Good time management
- Dependable and organized
- Oral communication skills, comfortable speaking with seniors on the phone
- Strong computer skills
- Resume submission required
- Criminal background screening

Mon – Fri 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. Volunteer schedules depend on individual availability.

Physical Demands / Work EnvironmentUse of a computer to enter and retrieve information; communicate with staff and external customers by telephone, copier, fax, and desktop computer. Occasional lifting/moving up to 25 lb. May use computer/video display terminal.
