Location: New York

As a member of the Cornell Cooperative Extension Dutchess County (CCEDC) Environment & Energy Program team, the Energy Hubs Program Manager leads county‑level programming focused on New York State energy efficiency and clean energy education in the Mid‑Hudson region, working with communities across Sullivan, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, and Ulster counties.

Position Overview

Responsible for developing, delivering, and evaluating educational programs and outreach initiatives that promote clean energy strategies for low‑to‑moderate income and priority communities. Works under the Energy and Environment Program Leader and collaborates with regional team members, community partners, and energy contractors.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement educational strategies for assigned programs, focusing on building science, renewable technologies, and energy efficiency.
  • Produce program materials and deliver workshops, public events, and digital content to diverse audiences.
  • Plan and coordinate outreach at community events, meetings, and conferences.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community partners, local stakeholders, and energy contractors.
  • Conduct program evaluations, analyze data, and recommend improvements.
  • Assist with budget development and manage program financing, including grant and contract opportunities.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and interns for program delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, and reports on program participation and impact.
  • Act as a liaison within the community and represent the program at local and regional events.
  • Participate in professional development and special committees as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in natural resources, environmental science, sustainable planning, community programming, marketing, communications, business, engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum one year of relevant experience in educational program development, energy efficiency, or renewable energy outreach.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for diverse audiences, both group and one‑on‑one.
  • Proficiency with oral, written, visual, and electronic communication tools including video, audio, and computer‑based media.
  • Ability to manage long‑term projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Drive for independent program delivery and problem solving.
  • Travel to off‑site locations and ability to transport educational materials.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record.
  • Flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fluency in Spanish or other languages.
  • Experience working with community stakeholders in low‑income areas and in specific Mid‑Hudson counties.
  • Volunteer supervision experience.
  • Proficiency with digital technologies for education and communications.
  • Empathy, sincerity, and the ability to find positive solutions in challenging situations.
Benefits and Compensation

This is a full‑time, exempt position eligible for benefits and paid at the rate of $64,633.00 per year.
