Community Engagement Facilitator – Clinical and Translational Science Institute
The Community Engagement Facilitator works within the Clinical and Translational Science Institute’s Community Engagement core to integrate research, training, and engagement initiatives, collaborating with researchers, community partners, and CTSI leadership to design and implement community‑based recruitment and outreach strategies.
Responsibilities- Play an active role in integrating research, training, and engagement initiatives within the CTSI Community Engagement core by working with core leadership, the University at Buffalo community, and stakeholders.
- Develop and implement program deliverables, managing projects and consulting with researchers and community partners on the design and implementation of community-based recruitment strategies, including the WNY Research Connections, grant development, and project development.
- Develop innovative community education and outreach initiatives and culturally informed approaches to engage community members in research, providing support for the CTSI Community Advisory Board.
- Meet regularly with the Core Director and collaborate with other CTSI cores, institutional partners, and community partners.
- Assist in the implementation of Community Engagement Studios and Science Cafés, disseminating research into community settings and facilitating community conversation around the topic.
- Lead the implementation of the Community Engagement Seed Grant Program, providing funding for community‑academic partnerships.
- Coordinate and implement evaluation of all programmatic activities for the CTSI Community Engagement core, including online training modules, seminars, workshops, outreach training modules, and new courses.
- Monitor and assess Community Engagement programs, contributing to annual and periodic progress reports.
- Lead efforts related to the WNY Research Connections, a tool to match potential participants with research studies.
- Assist with dissemination of project findings to relevant communities.

Salary Range$63,000 – $66,000.
Physical DemandsFrequently moves boxes and tables weighing up to 50 pounds for community outreach events.
Driving RequirementsThis position does not require driving a university‑owned vehicle.
