Position: Board Director for Educational Access (Volunteer)
Location: New York

Board Member – The Educational Equality Institute (TEEI) – New York, NY

The Educational Equality Institute (TEEI) is seeking dedicated and experienced professionals to join our Board of Directors for our U.S. branch. As a Board Member, you will play a crucial role in providing governance, strategic oversight, and fundraising support to ensure the organization achieves its mission of expanding access to education and professional opportunities for underserved communities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic direction and oversight to ensure the success of TEEI’s programs and initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with nonprofit governance standards, financial oversight, and legal requirements.
  • Supporting fundraising efforts, including donor engagement, corporate sponsor ships, and grant opportunities.
  • Building partnerships with corporate, foundation, and community stakeholders.
  • Representing TEEI at events, networking opportunities, and public engagements.
  • Attending quarterly board meetings and participating in at least one committee.

This is a volunteer position with a term length of two years
, with an option for renewal.

Requirements
  • A strong commitment to educational access and nonprofit leadership
    .

  • Experience in fundraising, corporate partnerships, finance, legal compliance, nonprofit governance, marketing, or education
    .

  • A well-established professional network that can support TEEI’s mission through connections and resources.

  • Prior experience serving on a nonprofit board (preferred but not required).

  • The ability to dedicate 5–10 hours per quarter to board meetings, committee work, and organizational initiatives.
