Development Manager (Deputy Director of Leadership Giving) Multiple Positions
We seek two dynamic, seasoned individuals with hands‑on, broad‑based development experience and a proven track record of successfully soliciting five‑ and six‑figure gifts or more. Reporting to the Director of Leadership Giving, this is an exciting front‑line opportunity to help donors achieve their philanthropic goals for our students and the College, working in partnership with college and board leadership.
Responsibilities- Serve as the primary contact with a portfolio of 100‑125 prospects and donors capable of making five, six and seven‑figure gifts, engaging them deeper in the life of the College and soliciting their support.
- Conduct 120‑150 meaningful interactions with donors/prospects annually.
- Build individualized cultivation and solicitation strategies.
- Travel to points outside the New York City area (e.g., Florida, California) for fundraising purposes.
- Create management reports, call reports and meeting request memos; maintain a detailed record of prospect engagement in the database.
- Collaborate with administrators and planned‑giving professionals to maximize giving through deferred‑giving structures.
- Work with Deans, faculty, administrators and volunteer leaders to build and steward departmental and center advisory boards.
- Grow individual support from the College’s industry, affinity and corporate alumni networks.
- Maintain current knowledge of Baruch’s three schools and their fundraising priorities.
- Assist with special projects and perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and six years of related experience.
- Demonstrated achievement in individual donor fundraising.
- Broad knowledge of prospect management, cultivation and stewardship.
- Four or more years in fundraising or sales, plus higher‑education fundraising experience.
- Ability to work with a diverse population.
- Raiser’s Edge experience preferred.
- Superb fundraising judgment and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
- Articulate spokesperson for Baruch.
- Sensitivity to human relations and ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast‑paced environment.
$98,995 – $109,898; salary commensurate with education and experience. CUNY benefits include health plans, retirement/pension and savings plans, tuition waivers for CUNY graduate study, generous paid time off, and access to extensive academic, arts and athletic programs.
