Overview

The Center for Academic Community Engagement (ACE) at Siena University recruits candidates across the United States to serve with community-based organizations working to alleviate poverty in the Capital District. The position involves coordinating volunteer‑led projects, conducting research, writing grants, and facilitating outreach for the Rotterdam Community Center (RCC).

Responsibilities
  • Manage marketing and publicity for community events at RCC to increase visibility and engagement.
  • Liaise with Nutrition Security Programs, representing RCC at stakeholder meetings, coordinating volunteers, and managing logistics of food procurement, deliveries, and distribution.
  • Lead the monthly mobile food distribution site in partnership with Mohonasen Central School District to streamline service delivery.
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with local schools and organizations to expand RCC’s mission‑aligned network.
  • Conduct ground research and attend community meetings to identify service gaps and evaluate stakeholder needs.
  • Collaborate with RCC leadership to develop new community programming informed by research and community needs data.
