About the Internship
This internship offers a dynamic opportunity to support New York Life’s Corporate Responsibility and Foundation initiatives across a range of key programs. The intern will assist with campaign coordination, event logistics, communications, and administrative tasks that contribute to social impact and community engagement efforts.
Key Areas of Responsibility- Volunteers for Good (VfG)
- Campaign Coordination
- Liaise with department and office coordinators
- Work closely with corporate communications, building services, catering and special events team
- Assist with VfG Program
- Budget tracking
- Expense management
- Catering requests
- Project management
- Assist team leaders and field coordinators as needed
- Design and update VfG materials: field office, database and Team Leader manuals, volunteer guide/community relations guide, marketing materials
- Handle the logistics for any VfG meeting: schedule rooms, help committee members with travel reservations, prepare welcome packages for VfG program coordinators and other tasks as needed
- Campaign Coordination
- Giving Campaign
- Assist with the development and production of artwork, communications, etc.
- Assist with customer service
- Assist with event logistics including kickoff meetings, trainings, etc.
- Assist with the overall campaign facilitation, reporting, expense management, and execution
- Outreach Initiatives
- Help prepare and coordinate outreach and presentation materials
- Assist with mailing and shipping materials
- Assist with developing educational/outreach materials
- NYL Foundation
- Assist the Foundation staff as needed
By the end of the internship we hope that the intern will have a better understanding of the corporate responsibility and New York Life Foundation area. Specifically, how and why we operate: our processes, procedures, and programs, as well as how our work relates to the business side of New York Life.
Skills, Education, and Experience- Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong organizational skills; must be able to multi-task
- Community involvement and knowledge of nonprofit sector a plus
- Knowledge of basic graphic design (Mac, Photoshop) a plus
Salary Range: $25 per hour (part‑time, 25 hours per week on site in New York City). Overtime eligible: N/A. Discretionary bonus eligible:
