Reports to: Director of Community & Individual Engagement

For over 65 years, LSA Family Health Service, a community-based nonprofit in East Harlem, has supported thousands of diverse and immigrant families striving to build better lives. LSA provides families with the most critical resources they need - food, clothing, healthcare, education, a safe home, and advocacy services. We believe by supporting and empowering families, our entire community will thrive.

Position Overview: LSA Family Health Service is seeking a passionate, organized, and community-oriented Volunteer & Donor Engagement Associate to support our volunteer program, donor relations efforts, and community engagement initiatives. LSA leverages the power of volunteers who help programs thrive, their collective efforts adding up to $1.1 million in revenue annually. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and customer-service oriented individual with a commitment to LSA's mission and values.

This entry-level position is ideal for someone interested in nonprofit development, fundraising, volunteer management, and community outreach. The Associate will work closely with the Development and Community Engagement team to recruit, coordinate, recognize, and steward volunteers and donors who support LSA's mission of strengthening children, families, seniors, and the East Harlem community.

A Typical Day: Your morning kicks off with greeting and coordinating an enthusiastic group of volunteers as they arrive at our center in East Harlem. By mid-morning, you are reaching out to donors, and preparing personalized thank-you notes to ensure they feel valued. After a quick lunch with your colleagues, you are collaborating with program staff to identify upcoming volunteer opportunities and helping to organize an upcoming community event.

Before going home for the day, you are helping to update a database of volunteer and donor records to ensure operations run smoothly.
