Senior Officer, Planned Giving. This role supports donors and prospects in an assigned geography across the Eastern U.S. to increase legacy gift commitments and grow an engaged legacy society. The senior officer secures and sustains planned gifts and collaborates with philanthropy colleagues to advance IRC’s mission through donor relationships, stewardship, and strategic cultivation.

Responsibilities

  • Promote engagement with the IRC legacy society (Changemakers) and recognize donor commitment through events.
  • Collaborate with Major Gifts and Principal Gifts colleagues on strategy and solicitation for appropriate prospects.
  • Partner with ER teams and IRC regional leadership to train and educate staff on planned giving processes and resources.
  • Consistently meet individual goals for high-quality meetings, lead identification, donor conversions, and outright giving, aligned with team objectives.
  • Review donor file data (Salesforce) to identify prospects and balance portfolio; input opportunity data accurately to drive pipeline activity and reporting.
  • Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all interactions.
Qualifications
  • Work Experience:

4+ years of experience with individual donors on complex giving conversations.
  • Skills:

Knowledge of planned giving vehicles and benefits; ability to communicate with older donors about the IRC mission and planning tools.
  • Attributes:
Ability to identify priorities, collaborate across the organization, and maintain confidentiality of donor information.
  • Technical:
Highly computer literate, including Microsoft Office and CRM databases (Salesforce or Raiser’s Edge).
  • Other:
Ability to travel up to 25% (including overnight), and valid driver’s license.
Working Environment & Compensation

This role is hybrid and requires on-site work in the NYC office with travel to see donors and prospects as needed. Applicants must have a home or alternate workspace for regular hours.

Compensation:
Pay range $93,000–$110,000 per year. Offers are based on location, experience, and skills, with final offers calibrated to the defined job requirements.

Professional Standards & Equal Opportunity
