Fall 2026 Internship

Summary

The Hill Art Foundation (HAF) is looking for a fall intern to learn the day-to-day operations of a non-profit exhibition and education space located in the heart of Chelsea. The intern will assist the HAF team with exhibition, education, archival, and administrative tasks. This includes visitor services, social media, teen education programs, research projects, and more. We are looking for an intern who is organized, creative, and has a keen attention to detail.

This internship offers the opportunity to further develop knowledge about cultural institutions throughout the metro area and build upon a professional skill set through first-hand experience working with a wide range of arts and education professionals. This is an hourly paid,
in-person position with an opportunity for renewal.

Compensation: $20/hour

Term: Fall 2026 (starts August/September 2026)

Schedule: 1-2 days/week

• The ideal candidate is a graduate or undergraduate student or a recent graduate based in NYC with a background in Art, Art History, Arts Education, Education, Museum Studies, Arts Administration, and Archival Studies
• Availability 1-2 days/week (Tuesday-Saturday; education programming in session on Tuesdays)
• Flexibility to work occasional events and evenings
• Excellent written, research, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Experience working with marketing tools such as Google Ads and Meta Ads Manager a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and GSuite
• Familiarity with Photo Shop, Canva, and Adobe Acrobat a plus

The Hill Art Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded with the goals of amplifying the artist's voice, deepening the relationship between art and the viewer, and connecting the dots between artistic movements through meaningful juxtapositions. The Foundation is committed to prioritizing education through programs for NYC teens, and commissioning original scholarship for Foundation publications. Visitors to the Foundation can expect rotating exhibitions from a world-class collection that are always free and open to the public.
