Location: New York

Join our dynamic team as the Director, Individual Partnerships to play a key role in shaping and implementing CEE’s funding strategy. Reporting to the CEO, you'll contribute your expertise to manage all aspects of individual giving and partnerships to engage and inspire giving from a diverse array of donors and prospects.

  • Plan and implement the fundraising strategy for Individual Giving including but not limited to:
  • Cultivation and solicitation of major donors
  • Recruitment of and support for event committees and honorees
  • Donor communications to drive engagement
  • Represent CEE and its programs in meetings and at events with individual donors and prospective donors
  • Guide solicitation of individual prospects with the CEO, CDO and members of the Board of Directors; brief and prepare these stakeholders, schedule meetings and events; prepare presentation materials
  • Create all departmental materials to aid in solicitation of individuals
  • Create and execute donor cultivation events with support from the Events team
  • Work closely with the CEO and other stakeholders to engage major donors and familiarize them with the scope of CEE’s programs
  • Provide input to the long-term growth plan, particularly for major gifts
  • Ensure effective communications with relevant stakeholders regarding the status of solicitations and prospects
  • Create and implement effective systems and communications to report, coordinate, and track solicitations and donations
  • Ensure effective database tracking and documentation of donor interactions
  • Develop and implement productive working relationships with CEE staff
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in individual fundraising with a history of managing and growing donor pipelines of $1,000,000+.
  • Passionate commitment to CEE’s mission, purpose, and values.
  • Proven ability to facilitate collaborative processes within teams.
  • Proactive, independent worker with strong multitasking abilities and the capacity to meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience working with or in partnership with a variety of donors
  • Project Management:
    Works effectively on project teams to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Problem Solve & Make Decisions:
    Identifies, analyzes and resolves existing and anticipated problems, makes timely decisions to reach the best solutions for the organization.
  • Internal/External Focus:
    Anticipates internal and external partner’s needs; assesses requirements and identifies new solutions that align with overall goals and objectives of the organization.
  • Communication & Influence:
    Communicates with and influences others to gain agreement and commitment; exceptional writing and verbal communication skills.

CEE has a hybrid work model and encourages staff in the NY metro area to meet with their teams/colleagues/managers in person, when possible, with the goal of building connections across the organization. All staff gather 2-3 times annually for all-hands activities, typically around major events, such as the annual gala. Location preference for this role is New York City or Washington, D.C.
