TITLE: Liberation Summer Camp Intern

STATUS: Part-Time, 28 hours a week for 5 weeks, 20 hours a week for 3 weeks
TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT: Temporary
DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Youth Empowerment and Engagement Coordinator
REGION/UNIT: Northeast Region, Healing Justice Program New York
LOCATION: New York, NY USA (In office)

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITIONAmid today’s resurgence of grassroots organizing and heightened calls for racial justice, pointed efforts must be made to engage young people in local communities. The New York Office of the American Friends Service Committee will contribute to this effort during our 2026 in-person Liberation Summer Youth Advocacy Training Camp. Our focus will be empowering young people with the skills and strategies, including using the arts, to advocate for healing in our criminal and immigration legal systems.
We are seeking an intern to join us in this work.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSCollege degree preferred. High school diploma or GED required.
Required:
Areas of criminal and/or immigration systems or working with youth ages 14 – 20 preferred.
