** University Behavioral Associates (UBA) at Montefiore Medical Center is offering a unique opportunity to join a federally funded program serving low-income fathers and families in the Bronx.
** HERO Dads** (Helping Engage Responsible Outcomes for Dads) is a federally funded fatherhood program designed to support custodial and non-custodial fathers, co-parents, and parenting couples in the Bronx. The program provides a comprehensive range of services aimed at strengthening father-child relationships, improving co-parenting, and fostering economic stability. Core program components include relationship and co-parenting education, skills-based parenting workshops, and employment-related supports including job search assistance, vocational training, job referrals, and job retention coaching.

HERO Dads operates on the belief that fathers are best supported through an integrated, strengths-based approach that addresses the social determinants undermining their ability to remain engaged with their children and meet their parenting responsibilities. All services are provided in both English and Spanish and are free of charge to participants.
** Overview of Position:
** The Outreach Specialist is a community-facing role responsible for recruiting, engaging, and enrolling fathers, co-parents, and couples into the HERO Dads program. This position will build and maintain relationships with community partner organizations across the Bronx, conduct enrollment activities through both in-person and digital channels, and serve as the primary point of contact for prospective participants from first contact through intake completion.

The Outreach Specialist will work closely with the Program Director, program facilitators, and case managers to meet enrollment targets and support participant retention.

The HERO Dads population often faces multiple, intersecting barriers to program engagement—including employment instability, housing insecurity, and legal system involvement—that require the Outreach Specialist to exercise independent judgment in assessing each prospective participant’s circumstances and tailoring their engagement approach accordingly. Success in this role requires the ability to balance the relational, trust-building work that effective outreach demands with the accountability of meeting enrollment targets.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about community engagement and fatherhood, and who brings both warmth and strategic thinking to working with underserved populations.
** Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
*** Conduct community outreach and recruitment activities to identify and engage prospective HERO Dads participants, including tabling, attendance at community events and health fairs, and on-site outreach at partner locations (churches, barbershops, Montefiore clinics, substance use treatment programs, probation/parole offices, re-entry programs, and other CBOs)
* Manage digital outreach and recruitment through social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram), including responding to advertisement inquiries and converting leads to scheduled intake appointments
* Develop and sustain referral relationships with community partner organizations; represent HERO Dads at community meetings, coalition forums, and partner events
* Follow up with prospective participants…
