Crisis Action is looking for an exceptional Advocacy and Campaigns Manager to forge creative coalitions that de-escalate conflict and protect civilians in Sudan. This role will ensure Crisis Action can seize opportunities to influence global decision making through developing and sustaining key relationships and partnerships with stakeholders in Washington DC, as well as regular virtual engagement with partners and allies around the world.

Job Summary

Crisis Action is looking for an Advocacy and Campaigns Manager to join its team and forge creative coalitions to de-escalate conflict and protect civilians in Sudan. The post-holder will be an outstanding strategist that can also deliver results; an outcome-focused, self-motivated individual who leads with rigor, takes initiative, and can project manage with skill. This person must be capable of convening and coordinating within a complex ecosystem of civil society partners and allies across the globe.

This position requires both strategic acumen and hands-on implementation.

Principal responsibilities
  • Design and implement campaigns and advocacy on the Sudan conflict:
    Work with others in the Crisis Actionteam,civil societypartnersand allies to develop and drive collective campaigns and impactful advocacy to protect civilians and haltarmedconflict. This will involve spotting opportunities, crafting strategies, developing creativetacticsand working with partners to implement multiple advocacy actions.
  • Political analysis and engagement:
    Provide sophisticated insight and analysis on the position of key African governments and regionalorganisationstowardsthe conflict in Sudan,andtop-qualityadvice to our international team and partners toassistin the development of first-class campaign strategies and tactics.
  • Networking and relationship building:
    Expandtheorganization'sregionalrelationships that have a bearing on our work, acrosspolicy and decision makers,themedia, influencers,partnersandother stakeholders.
  • Convening and facilitation:
    As conflictsor crisesemerge or Sudan, its neighboring countriesorthe Horn of Africa you will draw on your skills torapidlyconvene and facilitate global conversations for our network to share knowledge and insight andbolster and coordinate their collective capacity to influence key international decision-makers and spaces.
  • External communications:
    Produce high-quality external communications to engage a variety of audiences.
  • Promote and uphold Crisis Action’s culture of low ego, servant leadership, and collaborative working.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS Essential Skills & Experience
  • Exceptional understanding of campaigns and advocacy strategy development and implementation in any relevant field (e.g. human rights, humanitarian, peace building, gender, conflict, or otherwise).
