Location: New York

The East Harlem Schools seeks an organized, ambitious, detail-oriented individual to support the fundraising efforts of a middle school with an annual operating budget of approximately $3 million. The development coordinator will have the opportunity to be directly involved with fundraising, event planning, marketing, and program.

The Development Coordinator will work directly with the Development Liaison to:
  • Plan and execute major annual fundraising event (the Poetry Slam)
  • Accurately maintain donor records in development database (eTapestry) and work with the Director of Finance to ensure proper accounting of gifts including daily donation reports and pledge reports
  • Coordinate and send timely acknowledgement letters to donors

    Draft copy for marketing materials including campaigns, events, social media, and more
  • Update and maintain school’s website (Finalsite)
  • Create content for school’s Instagram, Facebook, and You Tube
  • Provide program support as needed

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to maintaining accurate and confidential donor records
  • Strong project management skills with an ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Desired qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-2 years of professional experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with iMovie preferred
  • Experience with database software preferred
  • Interest in working with and on behalf of middle school students from low-income families
  • Spanish proficiency is a plus
Benefits:
  • $55,000-$60,000/year
