Who We Are

Established by Black and Latina activists in 1984, the Violence Intervention Program (VIP) is NYC’s only culturally specific organization with a mission to address domestic and sexual violence within Latine communities. Each year, we provide intensive support and services to 3,500+ survivors and children and reach 15,000+ community members through community events and preventive education. We are committed to developing innovative programs that respond to the needs of our diverse community and reflect our organizational values.

What We Offer

As an organization led by and for people of color and survivors of violence, we care deeply about our team’s wellness. We offer unlimited PTO and flexible work schedules, a hybrid workplace, health benefits coverage up to 90% for staff and their families, a 403(b) retirement plan, a staff led wellness committee, time to play and laugh together, and more.

We are a work in progress and welcome input from our team as we continue building an affirming and uplifting workplace.

As part of our small but mighty team, you’ll collaborate with colleagues across VIP and interact with donors, partners, and members of our Board of Directors.

What You’ll Do
  • Support individual and corporate fundraising efforts, including donor and prospect research.
  • Prepare gift acknowledgments, thank-you letters, and other donor correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate donor records, gifts, interactions, and notes in VIP’s donor database.
  • Generate donor reports, prospect and mailing lists, and other fundraising data.
  • Help keep development files, documents, and procedures organized and up to date.
  • Support fundraising events, including VIP’s annual benefit, with event logistics, communications, materials, donor lists, sponsor recognition, and follow-up.
  • Provide administrative support to the Associate Director, including calendar management, meeting agendas and notes, and follow-up.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Familiarity with CRM/donor databases (experience with Bloomerang a plus)
