SUMMARY:
With a problem-solving mandate, the Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI) is a think- and do- tank that tackles major policy challenges confronting the Asia-Pacific in Security & Diplomacy;
Trade, Investment, & Innovation;
Climate & Energy; and Society, Technology, & Public Health. The Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI) is seekingan exceptional internwith a demonstrated interest inAsia policy.
Asuccessfulcandidate would be assigned to an advisor during the course of the internshipbased on interest.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The intern will have the opportunity to be immersed in the daily workings of an Asia policy think-and-dotank, furthertheir research and writing skills, and learn from our vast network of experts.
Some projects/activities might include:
- Program support of ongoing projects including, but not limited to: event/conference coordination, event management, and drafting invitations and event documents;
- Track and research current developments in Asia;
- Draft policy-focused web and social media content;
- Data entry, including updating and maintaining contact databases;
- Take minutes during meetings and round tables as directed;
- Independent research and writing as time allows;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Asia Society Policy Instituteinterns will work in ourNew York office in a hybrid capacity (three days in the office).
REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidates should be able to commit to a minimum of 18 hours per week for a period of at least 12 weeks;
- Must be at least a junior in an undergraduate degree program, a graduate student, or recent graduate;
- Demonstrate familiarity with Asia policy issues through previous academic study and/or internship experience;
- Must have the ability to work independently;
Strong research, writing, and editing skills;
Excellent attention to detail;
Ability to meet tight deadlines;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Canva, and social media platforms;
Flexibility with handling diverse tasks; - Full professional proficiency in English;
- Proficiency in an Asian language, a plus;
- Be based in the U.S., as well as have U.S. work authorization.
