Program Coordinator, New York
Jewish Graduate Organization (JGO)
About JGOThe Jewish Graduate Organization (JGO) builds Jewish community for graduate students and young professionals across the country. Through campus partnerships, programming, events, and leadership opportunities, JGO connects Jewish graduate students to community, resources, and one another.
JGO is launching a new townhouse space that will serve as a hub for Jewish graduate student community, programming, and connection. We are looking for a warm, organized, and enthusiastic Part-Time Engagement & Program Coordinator to help bring the space to life.
About the RoleThis is a part-time, hourly position for someone who enjoys working with people, building relationships, keeping things organized, and being part of a growing organization.
The Coordinator will work closely with JGO’s programming team and Northeast Engagement Manager to support both the day-to-day operations of the townhouse and the growth of JGO’s New York community. This includes helping prepare the space for events, welcoming students, coordinating food and supplies, building relationships with students and young professionals, and helping recruit participants for key JGO programs and community events.
Importantly, this role is not just about logistics. The Coordinator will help build relationships with students, get to know the people coming through the townhouse, and help students feel connected to JGO and to one another. The ideal candidate is someone who naturally notices people, enjoys starting conversations, remembers faces and names, and is excited to help turn the townhouse into a real community hub.
The Coordinator will also have an opportunity to take ownership of building JGO’s young professionals community in New York, spearheading outreach and recruitment for several large events throughout the year and developing relationships that can grow into ongoing community engagement.
This is also an opportunity for someone who is interested in nonprofit work and would like to grow with JGO over time, potentially taking on additional engagement, programming, and organizational responsibilities as the role and organization grow.
