About GallopNYC

GallopNYC uses therapeutic horsemanship to help New Yorkers with disabilities walk, talk, learn, and live as independently as possible. Founded in 2005, we are New York City's largest therapeutic equine-assisted nonprofit, serving over 450 people each week, including people with disabilities, veterans with PTSD, and seniors. GallopNYC depends on the collective support of staff, volunteers, and donors to deliver this programming, and this role plays a direct part in sustaining that support.

  • Assist with all aspects of GallopNYC's capital campaign, including prospect tracking, meeting preparation, proposals, pledge management, donor follow-up, and campaign reporting.
  • Coordinate donor stewardship activities, including acknowledgment letters, pledge reminders, donor updates, and recognition.
  • Plan and manage fundraising events from concept through execution, including timelines, sponsorship tracking, invitations, guest management, vendors, logistics, and follow-up.
  • Support GallopNYC's annual gala and other donor cultivation and stewardship events.
  • Coordinate grant submissions, reports, deadlines, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare fundraising reports, dashboards, presentations, and materials for leadership, the Board of Directors, and Development Committee.
  • Maintain development calendars, project plans, and fundraising timelines.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, Board members, consultants, volunteers, and donors to support fundraising initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and professional follow-up on donor and prospect activity.

Perform other development responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience supporting a capital campaign is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with Boards of Directors, donors, volunteers, and external partners is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Desired Characteristics

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to take ownership of projects.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing organization.
  • Professional and responsive in interactions with donors, volunteers, and colleagues.
  • Collaborative, flexible, and willing to support the full range of development activities.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Passionate about GallopNYC's mission.
