The MAO is instrumental in securing the financial resources needed to advance the mission of the Dominican Friars: preaching the Gospel for the salvation of souls.

The MAO reports to the Director of Development, Mark Cantine, and will collaborate closely with the Director of Development, the expanding Development team, and the Foundation as a whole to help advance the long-term impact of the Friars.

  • Qualify and build a dedicated portfolio of approximately 120-150 active major gift donors and prospects, moving them through the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship cycles, driven by a deep passion for the mission
  • Develop personalized plans for Major Gift donors that advance the donors' passions and interest in the Dominican Friars, and accompany individuals in their pursuit of Truth
Solicitation & Strategic Revenue Generation:
  • Strategically invite, solicit, and close five-, six-, and seven-figure gifts, pledges, and planned giving opportunities to advance mission priorities
  • Drive fundraising success by meeting or exceeding major gift revenue goals, maintaining a steadfast commitment to professional excellence and data-driven accountability
  • Practice personalized stewardship that expresses profound gratitude, ensuring donors feel valued and recognized for their vital role in the mission by relaying how their financial support directly advances the preaching of the Gospel
Collaborative Relationship Building:
  • Establish and cultivate deep relationships of trust and mutual respect with Friars, Foundation staff, and donors, ensuring all philanthropic conversations are rooted in care for the common good

Perform other major donor activities as required
