Senior Manager, Individual Philanthropy

Salary Range: $75,000.00 To $80,000.00 Annually

The working schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, with Saturday and Sunday off.

ACC is one of the nation’s largest open-admission animal shelters, whose mission is to End Animal Homelessness in NYC. We touch the lives of nearly 20,000 animals each year. We strive to find loving homes for homeless and abandoned cats, dogs, guinea pigs and rabbits, both by adopting animals directly to the public and by partnering with more than 200 dedicated animal placement organizations (our New Hope partners). We also help keep NYC communities safe and rescue animals in need, responding to emergencies that involve animals as well as keeping our doors open 24/7 for people and animals in need.

The Senior Manager, Individual Philanthropy oversees a comprehensive annual giving program, developing and implementing strategies to acquire new donors, retain and increase support from existing donors, and grow individual giving revenue. Through e-appeals, direct mail, personal outreach, and other fundraising initiatives, this role builds donor relationships and creates opportunities for increased engagement and giving. The Senior Manager also manages ACC’s Borough bred Buddy monthly giving program and cultivates and stewards a portfolio of donors.

The Senior Manager plays an important role in the Philanthropy department’s moves management strategy, helping to strengthen donor engagement, stewardship, and long-term giving. This role works collaboratively across the Philanthropy team to identify opportunities to deepen donor relationships, increase individual giving, and expand ACC’s donor base in support of ACC’s mission to end animal homelessness in New York City.

• Bachelor’s degree and 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit fundraising required, including demonstrated experience managing annual giving programs.
• Demonstrated experience developing fundraising appeals and donor communications, with excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Experience managing a portfolio of individual donors and developing cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
• Experience working with donor databases and fundraising platforms; experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT, Go Fund Me  Pro (formerly Classy), and Mailchimp strongly preferred.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to evaluate fundraising results and donor data to inform strategy and identify opportunities for growth.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with donors, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to handle sensitive donor information with discretion and maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
• Experience supervising and supporting staff.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
