Position Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Director for Alumnae/i Relations and Giving the Coordinator will contribute to the development of strategies designed to secure the engagement of alumnae/i and other friends in support of the University’s fundraising and strategic goals.

The coordinator will be responsible for implementing those strategies by planning and executing special events and ongoing programs, developing persuasive communication materials, recruiting and cultivating volunteers, supervising student employees, and maintaining data necessary to monitor goals and achievements.

This is a full-time, exempt position who is expected to work onsite, five days a week, Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • With the Senior Director and Assistant Director of Alumnae/i Relations and Giving, contribute to the development of integrated annual fund participation strategies and annual giving goals based upon analysis of past campaigns and constituency groups, in order to generate increasing levels and numbers of gifts from alumnae/i and friends.
  • Work with the Alumnae/i Relations and Giving team to set a communication plan/schedule for the University’s annual giving initiatives. Ensure annual giving appeals are developed and deployed on time, and in alignment with that schedule.
  • Draft and develop annual giving appeals and written materials necessary for annual giving solicitation. Collaborate with the Office of Communications and Marketing to ensure pieces align with the University’s editorial and brand guidelines.
  • Maintain appeal, gift, and campaign details, as well as donor information in Raisers’ Edge database, ensuring proper documentation and tracking of annual fund operations; prepare reports tracking giving, progress towards goals, and pledge information.
  • Maintain the schedule of annual giving reports for monitoring progress and completing necessary donor recognition.
  • Implement, promote, and support alumnae/i events and programs that align with the University’s strategic plan and annual giving goals, including but not limited to on campus, local, and virtual programming as well as centerpiece programs such as Reunion and Homecoming Weekend, and affinity group events.
  • Serve as lead at various alumnae/i events both on-campus and in the tri-state area.
  • Assist in the scheduling, planning, and execution of a multi-year regional travel and event schedule.
  • Together with the Senior Director and Assistant Director of Alumnae/i Relations and Giving, coordinate all University Athletic fundraising initiatives in collaboration with the Department of Athletics. Provide department leadership, coaches, and players assistance in the development and design of fundraising initiatives, and offer logistical/operational support to facilitate effective gift acknowledgment and record keeping.
  • Support the engagement of the President’s Associates Council, a peer-to-peer fundraising initiative focused on cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding annual gifts of $1,000 or more. Plan, promote, and implement all phases of events (invitations, catering, scripts/programs, etc.) for the program.
  • Oversee the student employment program including, hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating the Office Assistants and "Dolphin Dialer" phone team of approximately 8-14 students.
