    THE OPPORTUNITY

    The Restorative Justice Practice Department creates and supports the implementation of restorative justice practices to improve system-based and community responses to harm, both locally and nationally. We provide thorough leadership and programming in diverse settings including diversion in criminal and supreme courts,with youth and adults,utilizing restorative approaches to address violence, interpersonal conflict,gun violence,trafficviolenceandintimate partner violence.

    Our national work includes providing training and technicalassistanceto a range of organizations in diversejurisdictionsacross the United States.

    The Department of Restorative Justice Practices is seeking a Planner to support the department across both arms of the department. Reporting to the Senior Director of Restorative Justice, the Planner plays a critical role in both the local and national teams, administratively and substantively. The Planner will work closely with the Senior Director and Deputy Director of Restorative Justice Practices to support the department, and to develop, design and implement restorative justice programming, policy, and best practices at the Center.

    Responsibilities

    include but are not limited to:
    • Work closely with the Senior Director and to design, plan and help implement new initiatives; including creating and maintaining relationships with partners, developing protocols and procedures, and providing overall administrative, logistical, and organizational support;
    • Create relevant materials and media to communicate the RJ team’s impact to various stakeholders;
    • Help coordinate development and assessment of protocols, procedures and best practices for new and existing programs;
    • Assist in the creation of a wide range of written materials to promote restorative justice – including one-pagers, toolkits, grant proposals, policy papers, articles, and others – for both internal and external audiences;
    • Provide administrative support, including but not limited to organizing conference calls and meetings, documenting and circulating next steps, editing documents, assisting with the submission offunderreports, and tracking progress on a wide range of initiatives;
    • Provide program support as needed around fiscal operations, policy and program development, event planning and execution, and other areas, as appropriate;
    • Plan and organize meetings, retreats, working groups, and other gatherings, including creating agendas, materials, and presentations, as needed;
    • Support the Senior Director and Deputy Director of Restorative Justice Practices in managing daily administrative and strategic operations, including tracking progress on a wide range of initiatives;
    • Assist with the facilitation of restorative justice responses for misdemeanor and felonies on a range of interpersonal harm including serious injuries and fatalities;…
