The Position:
The Communications Intern will work closely with the Strategic Partnerships Communications Consultant, and will support the development of a private sector partnerships impact report for the Private Sector and Civil Society Branch (PSCSB) in the Division for External Relations (DER), which is focused on raising the visibility of UNFPA’s strategic partnerships with private stakeholders, both among external and internal audiences.

The intern will liaise with UNFPA Regional and Country Offices to develop the annual impact report documenting key strategic partnerships, and create a compelling overview to raise awareness of partnerships with corporates, foundations, philanthropies and individual donors.

You would be responsible for:

• Supporting the development of the private sector annual impact report.
• Liaising with Country and Regional Offices to document partnerships, journeys, and stories of impact.
• Liaising with the various private sector portfolios at the headquarters to create an overview of stakeholders and collaborations.
• Acting as a focal point to coordinate editorial oversight, graphic design, publishing, and social media in relation to the report.
• Supporting printing, production and publishing of the report.

Qualifying for an Internship

All interns must meet the following educational and other eligibility requirements:

• Be enrolled in a first university degree programme (such as bachelor’s degree or equivalent) and have completed one full academic year;
• Be enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme (such as master’s programme or higher);
• Have recently graduated with a university degree as defined above and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation; or
• Be enrolled in a postgraduate professional trainee programme and undertake the internship as part of this programme.

Other eligibility requirements

• Demonstrate interest in the field of development;
• Demonstrate written and spoken proficiency in at least one of the working languages of the United Nations (English or French) and fluency in the official language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian or Spanish) of the UNFPA office; and
• Demonstrate ability to adapt to new environments and to establish and maintain good working relations with individuals of different cultural backgrounds.
