Advocacy Coordinator Consultant

UNICEF seeks a consultant to support advocacy and communication activities related to the Maternal and Child Survival Forum in Mexico City. The consultant will implement advocacy strategies, support forum activities, and ensure recognition and reporting of commitments and lessons learned, working closely with governments and partners.

• Support the implementation of the advocacy and communication strategy for the Maternal and Child Survival Forum.
• Support activities during the Forum including coordination with multiple Governments and partners.
• Ensure that commitments and lessons from the Forum are recognized and reported.
• Work effectively with UNICEF offices and government counterparts to deliver results and commitments.

• Masters in Medicine, Epidemiology, Public Health, International Relations, Public Policy, International Development, Human Rights, Global Health, Communications, Journalism or similar.
• At least five (5) years of progressively responsible and relevant professional work experience in sectors associated with global and/or public health, advocacy and communication.
• Excellent writing and research skills, including experience in writing short reports and briefings is essential. This is a requirement in English and Spanish.
• Experience in developing and creating advocacy materials, key messages, event briefings and concept and talking points.
• Proven experience in deploying a range of advocacy and communication tactics with governments and partners.
• Project management and coordination skills are required.
• Knowledge of children’s rights, public policy, and global health.
• Experience in advocacy at the international level is an asset.
• Good working knowledge and experience across Microsoft SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel is required.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Knowledge of Portuguese is an asset.
