Position Overview:

Reporting to the Senior Director, Foundation and Institutional Relations, the Associate, Foundation and Institutional Relations (Associate) plays an important role in supporting UWNYC’s institutional fundraising strategy, with a focus on foundation and institutional philanthropy. Working as part of the Resource Development team, the Associate will support a growing portfolio of funding opportunities across UWNYC’s areas of community impact, including food, health, justice, and education.

The Associate will support prospect research, proposal and report development, funder stewardship, grants management, and cross-functional coordination. This role requires strong writing, research, organizational, relationship-building, and project management skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with colleagues across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

Prospect Research and Pipeline Support

• Conduct research on prospective foundation funders using research tools, databases, and publicly available information.
• Support the identification and qualification of prospective funding opportunities aligned with UWNYC’s programs, priorities, and institutional fundraising strategy.
• Support the management of the foundation prospect pipeline by maintaining accurate records of prospects, outreach, deadlines, cultivation activities, and next steps.
• Prepare prospect research, funder profiles, and background materials to support cultivation and solicitation strategies.

Grants Management and Reporting

• In coordination with leadership from the Resource Development Team, support the development of grant proposals, concept notes, letters of inquiry, briefings, and other funding materials by conducting research, gathering information, drafting and editing content, and coordinating internal inputs.
• Upload and submit proposals, reports, and required documents through various online portals.
• Support tracking grant deadlines, deliverables, reporting requirements, and renewal opportunities throughout the grant lifecycle.
