PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Director, National Estate and Planned Giving collaborates on the strategic leadership, direction and management for ADL’s planned giving program and related campaigns with a focus on growing the program for ADL’s future sustainability. ADL’s Planned Giving program includes gifts through bequests, charitable gift annuities, trusts, retirement plans, and similar complex giving vehicles that require specialized financial planning. The Director leads a team of Planned Giving officers and support staff, and collaborates closely with colleagues in major gifts, marketing, and direct mail fundraising, as well as fundraising staff in each of our twenty-four regions across the U.S.

Responsibilities

Primary
:

• Collaborate on the development and implementation of a strategic plan for ADL’s planned giving effort across the country in furtherance of ADL’s annual appeal and
• Identify, qualify, and build a robust planned giving pipeline from existing donors and new leads, executing tailored cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies that
• effectively communicate ADL's impact and inspire long-term support;
• Increase bequest commitments while diversifying and expanding revenue beyond
• bequests, including growth in Charitable Gift Annuities and other traditional and
• innovative planned giving vehicles;
• Personally manage a portfolio of top planned giving donors and prospects;
• Solicit planned gifts through marketing efforts, prospect identification and
• collaborative integrated asks with major gift officers, senior executives, and
• volunteer leadership;
• Work closely with the Development team supporting donor conversations for
• endowed gifts and leading the Planned Giving portion of any capital or special
• campaign;
• Provide reporting to the ADL Foundation Board and support internal leadership in
• executing their responsibilities toward the ADL Foundation Board and to ensure the proper and timely processing of estate documentation.
• Work across departments, including marketing, and regionally to create compelling
• cases for philanthropic investment and accompanying marketing materials.
• Provide stewardship for existing legacy and planned giving donors, collaborating with
• ADL’s Director of Philanthropic Engagement to ensure a holistic stewardship
• approach.
• Support, educate, and coach regional colleagues in their efforts to secure planned
• gifts and as a subject matter expert, keeping current serving as the planned giving resource across the organization.
• Experience managing a team, executing strategy and driving results.

Qualifications

Skills:

• Experience managing a team, executing strategy and driving results;
• Working knowledge of estate, gift, and income tax law with the ability to clearly articulate PG prospects, PG society members, and fundraising colleagues.
• A passion for continuous learning, teaching and coaching;
• Excellent communication skills…
