Assistant Director of Nursing – Development

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing – Staff Development to join our team in Manhattan, NY. This role is ideal for a nursing professional who is passionate about staff education, clinical excellence, and enhancing the quality of resident care in a long-term care environment.

• Lead and deliver clinical education and training for nursing staff, ensuring compliance with NYSDOH and facility standards
• Assess and enhance staff competencies through coaching, mentoring, audits, and evaluations
• Support quality assurance initiatives and regulatory compliance
• Develop and track staff development programs on topics such as infection control, body mechanics, emergency preparedness, and OSHA standards
• Lead onboarding orientations and ongoing professional development opportunities
• Collaborate with facility leadership to improve patient care outcomes
• Conduct audits and assessments to ensure high standards of care
• Maintain training records and evaluate program outcomes

• Current New York State RN license in good standing
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Nurse Educator or in clinical staff development (long-term care preferred)
• Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
• Ability to create and deliver engaging educational programs
• CPR certification required (CPR trainer certification preferred)

• Salary Range: $130,000–$140,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications
