Under the general supervision of the Sr. Nursing Director, Nursing Director or Assistant Nursing Director provides direct nursing care to patients.

Per-Diem / four-shifts per month is required

• Incorporates relevant assessment and intervention skills in the delivery of nursing care.

• Provides specialty-specific care as outlined by Maimonides Medical Center.
• Indicates an Essential Job Function.

• Maintains competencies in individual field of responsibility
• Participates in the interview and evaluation of new health care team members
• Acts as preceptor for new health care team members
• Utilizes computer systems as they pertain to job responsibilities and in accordance with hospital policy
• Assures a safe environment and milieu in accordance with organizational policies and procedures
• Participates in MMC’s ongoing Quality Performance Improvement initiatives; identifies opportunities for organizational improvements.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing school required; BSN preferred.

Current NYS licensure as RN required.

Current BLS certification required.

Professional nursing experience appropriate to the service and the position.

1 year of recent PACU RN experience required. 1 year OR RN experience preferred. 1-2 yrs. Med./Surg. RN experience preferred. 1 year RN experience in a procedural area preferred.

Clinical skills for patient care delivery through the nursing process.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Good interpersonal skills.

Analytical skills

Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position; fluency in a second language preferred.

USD $66.69 - USD $66.69 /Hr.
