9a-5:30p (includes a 30-minute unpaid meal break) Monday through Friday. Must be available for after hour calls as needed.

To provide medical care services to youth in accordance with the regulatory standards in a juvenile correctional setting.

Mac Cormick Secure Center (MSC) is located in Brooktondale, New York. The youth served at MSC are male, adjudicated, juvenile delinquents who are placed with OCFS by Family Court. Depending on the sentence, youth may remain in OCFS custody until the age of 21. MSC is accredited by the American Correctional Association and has a current population of approximately 27 youth.

Currently, there are no vaccine requirements. Supervision staff will be present when the employee is providing nursing care to youth.

A Nurse Practitioner will assess patient needs, order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, diagnose disease, formulate, and prescribe treatment plans by means of interview, health history, physical examination and/or diagnostic testing in collaboration with a licensed physician or physicians. In accordance with a written practice agreement and written practice protocols that include specialty areas and are agreed upon in advance by you and the physician of record, your work may include the diagnosis of illness and physical conditions and the performance of therapeutic and corrective measures.

Performing other duties deemed necessary for patient care is also assumed and required.

Current Licensure as a Family Health Nurse Practitioner in New York State.

Must maintain a valid New York State license and registration.

Candidate must have completed 3,500 hours of collaboration. Your resume must document how you have met the required 3,500 hours in order to qualify for this position.
