OverviewThe Administrative Nursing Supervisor is responsible for providing administrative and clinical leadership across assigned nursing units and services. This role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care through effective staffing coordination, operational oversight, and adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. The Supervisor serves as a clinical and administrative resource for nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams and supports hospital-wide initiatives to improve patient outcomes and operational performance.
Responsibilities- Provide administrative and clinical oversight of nursing operations during assigned shifts
- Coordinate staffing, patient flow, and resource allocation to ensure safe and effective patient care
- Serve as a leadership resource for nursing staff, addressing clinical, operational, and personnel concerns
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including Joint Commission, CMS, and NYS Department of Health standards
- Support quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management initiatives
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among nursing leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams
- Respond to and manage urgent clinical or operational issues, including incident reporting and escalation as needed
- Participate in audits, documentation review, and regulatory readiness activities
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required;
Master’s degree preferred - Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of New York
- Minimum of five (5) years of recent clinical Home Care nursing experience, with supervisory or leadership experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage staffing, patient flow, and competing priorities
- Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer applications
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required
