Responsibilities:

* Responsible for ongoing assessment and rapid identification of changes in condition

* Crisis intervention and management

* Provide ongoing patient and family education

* Facilitate and arrange for appropriate discharge plan

* Support the Emergency Dept. and nursing professionals by participating in dept. meetings and serving on hospital committees.

Requirements:

* Valid NYS Nursing Licensure

* Minimum 1-year med / surg experience

* Graduate of an accredited nursing program

* Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment

Qualifications:

* ACLS/BLS certification

* TNCC, ENPC, and CEN preferred

* Prior ED or Critical Care experience

* Basic Coronary Care Course within 8 months of employment

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

* Positive attitude and willingness to function as a member of a team

* ED experience preferred; exceptional candidates from other backgrounds considered

* Flexibility required to work varied shifts including weekends and holiday rotation
