Fairview Rehab is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and clinically driven Limited Permit Registered Nurse (RN) to join our interdisciplinary team within our skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting. This role is ideal for nursing graduates who have completed their nursing education and are awaiting NCLEX licensure while working under a valid New York State Limited Permit.
The Limited Permit RN will work closely with nursing leadership, rehabilitation therapists, physicians, and support staff to provide exceptional patient-centered care to residents recovering from surgery, illness, injury, or complex medical conditions.
Responsibilities- Assist in providing direct nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation environment
- Monitor residents’ conditions and report changes to supervising RN, physician, or clinical leadership
- Support rehabilitation goals by collaborating with physical, occupational, and speech therapy teams
- Administer medications and treatments under the supervision and guidelines of New York State regulations
- Accurately document care, progress notes, vitals, and resident observations in the electronic medical record system
- Participate in care planning meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transitions of care
- Promote resident comfort, dignity, safety, and emotional well-being
- Maintain infection control standards and follow facility protocols and policies
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff members
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Active New York State Limited Permit for Registered Nursing required
- CPR/BLS Certification preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced rehabilitation and long-term care environment
- Compassionate, team-oriented, and eager to learn
- Previous clinical experience in rehab, long-term care, hospital, or subacute settings is a plus
