Position Overview
Optum NY (formerly Optum Tri‑State NY) is seeking an Urgent Care Advanced Practitioner to join our team in West Islip, NY.

Position Highlights- Physician‑led, patient‑centered team‑based environment
- Full spectrum urgent care for pediatric and adult patients, focused on value‑based care
- Clinical skills: suture, I&D, splinting, X‑ray reading, pediatrics and adults, occupational medicine, diagnostic and lab interpretation, infection and wound care management
- Full‑time, work‑life balance with flexible scheduling: 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. weekdays, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. weekends; 12‑ or 15‑hour shifts; no on‑call
- Evidence‑based medicine, teamwork and autonomy at the peak of your license
- Support for growth of practice and patient panel
- Direct and manage a complete continuum of high‑quality care within the care team
- Treat acute diseases and disorders, minor injuries, minor procedures, orthopedic/splinting, interpret digital X‑rays, conduct physical examinations, and more
- Review patient file/records, including allergies, problems, medications, and immunization status
- Elicit and record information about patient’s medical history
- Order or execute various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to obtain information on patient’s condition
- Analyze reports and findings of tests and examinations, and diagnose patient condition
- Coordinate care for patients
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program
- Active and unrestricted DEA license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Active NY license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
- DOT certification (or ability to obtain within the first 60 days of employment)
Salary range: $104,500 to $156,000 annually for full‑time employment. Pay is based on factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, and other criteria. Benefits include a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401(k) contribution. All benefits subject to eligibility requirements.
