Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist Residents with daily living activities, to include delivering meals, turning and ambulating residents and providing plenty of fluids and nourishment meals throughout scheduled shift
• Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming
• Help Residents with personal hygiene
• Observe Residents and report any health issues to the supervising nurse
• Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure
• Provide basic life support as needed and respond promptly to patient emergencies.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by adhering to infection control protocols
• Assist nursing staff with medical procedures and documentation using electronic health record systems such as Sigma Care
• Document Resident food and fluid intake
• Assist Residents with feeding and serving nutritional supplements
• Making the Resident's beds and keeping their living areas clean and tidy
• Transport Residents within the facility
• Assist nurses and other staff as needed
• Adhere to professional standards and follow all facility policies and procedures
• Abide by all federal, state and local requirements and standards
• Maintain the confidentiality of all Residents and Facility data
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care
• Participate in training sessions and continuing education to enhance skills and knowledge in patient care

• Current and Valid NY CNA certification
• Experience in caregiving or patient care settings is highly desirable
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems Sigma Care is a plus
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment while also demonstrating independence when necessary
