OR RN - Vestal, NY

Location: Vestal

An opportunity awaits for an experienced Registered Nurse skilled in the Operating Room, handling diverse surgical cases as part of a dynamic perioperative team. This contract role is ideal for an RN with a robust OR background and a keen attention to patient safety and high-quality care.

Schedule:

• 3 x 12-hour evening shifts per week (36 hours)
• Occasional weekends (one every 3 to 4 weeks, evening shift)
• 1 to 2 call shifts per week

Qualifications:

• Current, active RN license
• BLS certification required
• 3-5 years of recent experience in an operating room setting
• Background in a variety of surgical specialties:
  General, GYN, GU, ENT, Orthopedics, and experience with robotics equipment preferred
• Trauma surgery experience valued, though not mandatory
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and adaptability in fast-paced environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent pre-, intra-, and post-operative care to a diverse surgical patient population
• Scrub and circulate across multiple service lines, demonstrating confident knowledge of instrumentation and sterile technique
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and fellow nursing staff to maintain optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient privacy standards
• Respond promptly to emergency situations and stand ready for call shifts as scheduled
