Schedule: Full-Time | 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Salary: $109,200 – $112,840 Annually

Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager Lead with Excellence. Inspire Quality Care.

Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Manager to join our nursing leadership team. This key management role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a designated nursing unit, supporting staff development, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting exceptional resident-centered care.

The Unit Manager will collaborate closely with the Director of Nursing and Associate Director of Nursing to maintain clinical excellence while fostering a positive, professional, and supportive environment for residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director and Associate Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing unit operations.
  • Supervise nursing staff and ensure adherence to facility policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in and support state and federal surveys, inspections, and audits.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized resident care plans.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations for LPNs and CNAs.
  • Assist with staff recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members regarding resident care concerns and updates.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels to provide safe, high-quality resident care.
  • Conduct daily rounds and monitor nursing care delivery for quality and compliance.
  • Address employee concerns and resolve staff issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Welcome and orient new residents to the unit.
  • Attend daily clinical meetings and contribute to Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
  • Monitor medication administration, treatments, and documentation accuracy.
  • Complete resident assessments and MDS documentation within required time frames.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents and ensure proper documentation and follow-up.
  • Promote and enforce resident safety and abuse-prevention policies.
  • Monitor admissions and re-admissions while working proactively to reduce avoidable hospitalizations.
  • Collaborate with Social Services and interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning.
  • Oversee narcotic counts, emergency equipment inspections, and supply inventory management.
  • Review laboratory results and promptly communicate abnormal findings to providers.
Qualifications
  • Current, active, and unencumbered New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, long-term care, or related healthcare setting.
  • At least six (6) months of experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and motivate nursing staff while maintaining high standards of resident care.
