- Salary Range: $145,000 - $160,000
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position SummaryThe Nurse Practitioner will manage the of care of a specific group of patients in the Columbia University Irving Medical Center New York-Presbyterian Hospital Interventional Pulmonary Program. Duties are a combination of clinical, administrative, and teaching responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Provide direct care to patients.
- Conduct relevant physical exams, documenting pertinent positive and negative findings.
- Write prescription(s) according to New York State and federal law.
- Assess and document patient response to treatment and interventions.
- Identify a diagnostic impression and/or formulate a differential based on the subjective and objective data obtained.
- Conduct review of patient records in collaboration with peers and physician colleagues to determine the quality and appropriateness of care provided.
- Conduct peer-to-peer review for authorization.
- Formulate a goal-directed plan that includes health maintenance, anticipatory guidance, and appropriate medical and nursing interventions according to established protocols/practice agreements.
- Engage in ongoing peer review and utilization review activities, competency evaluations, and Medical Board reviews.
- Obtain and document subjective history as appropriate to the chief complaint or reason for the visit.
- Provide and document health education that is oriented to the appropriate problem and/or developmentally age-appropriate health maintenance or anticipatory guidance issues.
- Generate an evaluation summary report for presentation at the multidisciplinary selection meetings.
- Participate and present at patient educational seminars.
- Perform discharge education.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
- Master?s degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus one to two years of experience
- Current NY State NP license
- Advanced Practice Nurse Board Certificate
- Experience in coordination of care of transplant patients.
- Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements.
