Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Role Summary

This direct-hire position is situated in a high-performing, 14-bed unit (including triage, labor, and dedicated OR suites) designed for nurses who thrive in a sophisticated, fast-paced environment. As an L&D RN, you will manage high-risk obstetric cases, circulate and scrub for C-sections, and perform comprehensive assessments with a high degree of autonomy.

- High-Acuity Labor Management: Provide expert care for high-risk OB patients and those requiring Magnesium Sulfate protocols.
- Surgical Proficiency: Perform both scrub and circulating duties for C-sections completed directly on the unit.
- Clinical Autonomy: Conduct full nursing assessments and cervical exams; utilize critical thinking to manage labor progression.
- Technical Integration: Maintain accurate documentation across a dual-system EMR environment (Meditech and GE).
- Patient Advocacy: Maintain AWHONN nurse-to-patient ratios, ensuring safe, personalized, and evidence-based care.
- Multidisciplinary Support: Partner with in-house Hospitalists/Intensivists (available 3 nights/week), 24/7 RT, and 24/7 Pharmacy to ensure patient safety.

Collaboration:
Work alongside Scrub Techs (Nurse Aides) and Unit Leaders to maintain seamless workflow and patient throughput. - Other duties as needed.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience, specifically with high-risk populations and C-section (scrub/circulate) skills.
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse License.
- Certifications: ACLS and NRP are required.
- Health Requirement: Flu vaccine required (Strict policy: no exemptions or exceptions).
- Attributes: Strong professional longevity, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification: RN-C (Inpatient Obstetric Nursing) is highly preferred.
- System Knowledge: Prior experience with Meditech and GE EMR platforms.
- Technical Skill: Comfort with independent assessments and complex OB interventions.
