About This Role

The Assistant Head Nurse in Behavioral Health Services provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit, serving as a team leader and assisting the Head Nurse in guiding nursing personnel.

• Provide professional nursing care to patients/clients within an assigned unit.
• Diagnose and treat responses to actual or potential health problems.
• Serve as a team leader and assist Head Nurse in guiding nursing personnel.
• Identify and discriminate between physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms.
• Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate the nursing regimen for assigned patients/clients.
• Record and maintain nursing care plans and progress notes.
• Interpret and report responses of patients/clients to appropriate health team members.
• Participate with interdisciplinary health team members to plan comprehensive patient care programs.
• Provide teaching, guidance, and direction to allied nursing personnel.
• Maintain professional competence through participation in continuing education.

Experience: Experience as an Assistant Head Nurse preferred.

Licenses &

Certifications:

Valid New York State RN License required.

Annual education differential based on degree:

• Bachelor in allied health discipline = $900
• Masters in allied health discipline = $1,200
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) = $1,800
• Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) = $2,000
• Doctorate in Education, Nursing Practice or PhD in Nursing (DNP) = $2,500

Annual certification differential ranging from $1,878 up to $4,878 for recognized certifications.

Annual nursing experience differential ranging from $987 up to $8,190 for up to 10 years of experience.
