Job Overview

St. John’s Episcopal Hospital at South Shore seeks an experienced, visionary leader as its next Director of Nursing, ED/ICU/CCU in New York.

Start Date: ASAP Pay Range: $175,000 – $190,000 per annum.

• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the Emergency Department and Critical Care units, ensuring high‑quality patient outcomes and compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Report to the Chief Nursing Officer and manage three direct supervisors and approximately 110 FTEs.
• Improve conversion rate of patients seen in the Emergency Department who are admitted, while enhancing employee engagement and retention through mentorship and support.
• Lead dynamic strategic planning and collaborative team building; provide hands‑on support when needed.

• BSN required;
  Master’s degree preferred.
• Active New York RN license required.
• Emergency nursing certification (e.g., CEN or CCRN) highly preferred.
• Minimum five years of nursing experience in emergency medicine or critical care, plus at least five years of leadership experience in a similar department.

Base salary range: $175,000 to $190,000 annually. Additional benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, and performance‑based bonuses. Total compensation will be determined based on experience, education, and other factors, reviewed under Fair Market Value evaluation.
