Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Salary: $190,000 – $215,000 annually (Based on Experience)
Union Plaza Care Center is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing (DON) to provide strategic leadership for our nursing department and ensure the highest standards of resident care, regulatory compliance, and clinical excellence.

Position SummaryThe Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall management, leadership, and direction of nursing services throughout the facility. The DON will work closely with the Administrator, Medical Director, and interdisciplinary team to maintain survey readiness, support staff development, and ensure exceptional care delivery.
Key ResponsibilitiesDirect and oversee all nursing operations and clinical services.
Maintain continuous compliance with CMS, NYSDOH, and other regulatory requirements.
Ensure ongoing survey readiness and successful survey outcomes.
Recruit, mentor, coach, and retain nursing staff.
Develop clinical competencies, education programs, and performance standards.
Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.
Oversee infection prevention and control programs.
Monitor staffing levels, scheduling practices, and labor management.
Collaborate with department leaders to improve resident outcomes and satisfaction.
Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and resident‑centered care.
Serve as a visible and supportive clinical leader throughout the facility.
Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
BSN preferred; ADN candidates with significant leadership experience will be considered.
Minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience as a Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, or Nurse Manager in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long‑term care setting.
Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, NYSDOH requirements, and long‑term care operations.
Proven success managing state surveys and regulatory compliance.
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to build, motivate, and develop high‑performing clinical teams.
