SummaryRegistered Nurse – Clinic at our Bronx location. Responsibilities include providing evaluation, diagnosis, and therapeutic intervention under general supervision, monitoring treatment plans, and coordinating care for adults with developmental disabilities. The role operates Monday‑Friday, 9:00 am–4:30 pm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Serves as a member of an interdisciplinary team and coordinates health care services for assigned programs.
- Arranges medical services and issues referrals as needed.
- Provides follow‑up on medical problems for persons served.
- Conducts staff training in medical administration, personal hygiene, basic first aid, dental hygiene, infection control, adaptive equipment, vital signs, and related in‑services.
- Handles communicable disease control, reporting to consulting physicians and implementing protective measures and staff training.
- Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and annual reviews.
- Monitors required staff health records and provides tests per regulatory agency requirements.
- Provides immediate first aid with referral to outside emergency services or private physicians.
- Participates in routine individual case reviews.
- Prepares and maintains medical documentation for each person served.
- Administers medications when appropriate and supervises certified staff in medication administration and storage.
- Provides supervision and training for Licensed Practical Nurses and less experienced Registered Nurses.
- Provides first aid and attends to emergency needs of persons served.
- Maintains nursing office and orders supplies as required.
- Transports persons served to appointments as necessary.
- Attends team meetings and required in‑services as scheduled.
- Visits persons served at home as requested by the Director or designee.
- Keeps abreast of changes in the nursing field.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program.
- At least two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in community‑based health services for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Licensed and registered as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
- CPR/BLS certification.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with co‑workers, employees, individuals, families, and outside contacts.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Knowledge of equipment commonly used by persons receiving services, including wheelchairs and adaptive devices.
$55/hour – $60/hour + industry‑leading benefits for all full‑time employees. $10,000 sign‑on bonus for all full‑time RN’s.
