Overview

Good Samaritan Nursing Home invites you to join our experienced nursing team that prioritizes evidence-based practice, continuous learning, and superior quality of care.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all residents' care plans and goals.
  • Complete accurate mandatory state assessments.
  • Create and distribute monthly care plan calendars to IDT.
  • Participate in all family meetings with residents and IDT to review resident problems, diagnoses, and current condition.
  • Maintain and update all care plans and assessments as required.
  • Monitor and audit clinical records, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Inform the Director of Nursing of persistent issues related to non-compliant documentation.
Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required. Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Must have current NY State RN license. Certification as PRI Assessor required. Completion of the MDS+ training course required. Must have knowledge of the MDS regulations in a residential health care facility. Computer proficiency required. Must have previous experience in MDS and have demonstrated ability in the application of organizational and communication skills.

Must demonstrate the ability to write in a legible manner and have strong documentation and auditing skills. Must be knowledgeable of general, rehabilitative and restorative nursing and medical practices and procedures, laws, regulations and standards of care governing long‑term care. Strong leadership, communication and team building skills required. Must maintain a commitment to the principles of long‑term care and have a strong understanding of assessing and care planning resident outcomes.

Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills required. Must have a clear understanding of cost‑effective, quality‑efficient care. Knowledge of standards and needs of residents, regulatory codes, personnel and administrative policies and departmental policies and procedures required. CPR certification required. Must demonstrate competence in recent supervision and have a minimum of 2 years long‑term care experience.

Salary

USD $50.00–$60.00 per hour.

BLS/AED Training Required
  • American Heart Association – BLS/ACLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program
  • American Red Cross – CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer

No online BLS/AED training from any organization will be accepted.
