About Bio Life Plasma Services

All day, donors you meet will motivate you. The high‑quality plasma you collect will become life‑changing medicines. Here, a commitment to customer service and quality is expected. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations.

About the Role

You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. The Medical Support Specialist is familiar with regulations of the plasma collection industry or a manufacturing environment and follows guidance from Bio Life Medical Affairs providing center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS).

How

You Will Contribute
  • Determine donor eligibility; manage informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
  • Evaluate donor reactions occurring at the facility as outlined in the SOPs; follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies including developing Center Physician standing orders and transporting donors to emergency care.
  • Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
  • Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
  • Manage employee incidents and determine further evaluation by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance for incidents.
  • Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats within the local community as indicated by EHS or Medical Affairs.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate‑equivalent recognized nursing program with state requirements.
  • Currently licensed or certified in the state of assignment:
    Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Current CPR and AED certification.
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Complete FDA approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
  • At least two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

US hourly wage range: $36.96 – $50.82. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. US based employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives, medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with match, short‑term and long‑term disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, well‑being benefits, up to 80 hours of sick time per year, and up to 120 hours of paid vacation for new hires.
