Responsibilities
About HPC: HPC is a comprehensive, community-based mental health facility serving individuals from the Central New York region. - Nursing interventions and their documentation
- Pediatric screenings
- Health teaching/counseling
- Facilitating admissions and discharges
- Screening youth for the ability to self-administer medications prior to admission
- Review medications with youth upon admission
- Training and education to MHTA staff on medication policies and procedures
- Weekly nursing groups
- Chart audits
Additionally, the successful candidate may provide supervision and education to subordinate professional, paraprofessional, and support staff in the performance of their patient/resident care duties and be responsible for maintaining inventory standards for medicine, controlled drugs, and narcotics.
QualificationsCandidates from outside or within State Service may be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement – Statewide (NY HELPS) program as a Registered Nurse 1 Psychiatric if they have a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State.
OR
Candidates within State Service can be considered for transfer to a competitive class position if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55‑b/55‑c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
CompensationSalary Grade 18. Salary Range: $96,147 to $105,138 annually.
